Matching Your Personality Type and College Major with Career Choices

How will your major academic interest match-up with what you would really like to do, if becoming a professional athlete is not in the offering? For example, what areas or industries do you have a passion for serving in outside of becoming a professional athlete? Perhaps you could consider the following industries: Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) along with the additional subject matters introduced earlier in the book. Such industries not only promise to offer an excellent career path that could afford opportunities for you to earn a “good living” for yourself and your family. In addition, Dr. Richburg could teach you how to become an entrepreneur by owning your own business. Furthermore, once you identify an area or industry that you are passionate about serving in and develop as an entrepreneur, you will never have to “work another day in your life”. I can personally bear witness to this fact in my life! Every day the Creator awakens me, for the past 30+ years I have had the opportunity to do what I am currently doing, helping Black male student athletes and that is called a “labor of love!”

As stated throughout the chapter, there are a plethora of alternatives to becoming a “pro” outside of playing professional sports.
