Dr. Charles W. Richburg
Dr. Charles W. Richburg is the Founder and President of Richburg Career Services, LLC.
Established in 2015, Richburg Career Services, LLC (RCS) is a resource for individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. RCS provides education and career development solutions targeting Black male student athletes and those residing in underserved communities.
Dr. Richburg’s dissertation entitled, An Examination of Community College Black Male Student Athletes’ Perceptions of Student Support Services and Identifying Methods for Improving Service Delivery, is the foundation of RCS. RCS advocates for Black males to adopt a spirit of mentorship, devote time to younger Black males, and to guide them with their career choices. Dr. Richburg encourages Black males to take up the mantle of mentorship utilizing a holistic process that embraces the academic, economic, physical, as well as spiritual life of the individual.
In 2017, he received a contract to develop an online educational series, curriculum, and professional teacher training courses for a national organization. Dr. Richburg lectures on speech communication, organizational leadership, collaborative communication, leading diverse teams, ethical leadership and other topics to enhance his students’ academic and social justice leadership acumen.
During a career covering a span of 30 years, Dr. Richburg has been lauded and is highly respected for his work as a Residential Drug Treatment Specialist, Criminal Court Administrator, Director of Employment and Training, and University Educator. He has appeared on Cable TV Channel 76, and WVOX Radio Station 1450 AM, in Westchester County, New York, discussing alternatives to incarceration for criminal offenders with substance abuse problems and always opens the microphones for “lively” Q & A sessions.
He received the President’s Volunteer Service Award by AmeriCorps, 2023, in recognition and appreciation of his volunteer service. Previously he was a volunteer mentor for the South Carolina Department of Correction Pre-Release Center, Aiken High School Mentoring Program and local educational programs.
After working in human services, he chose to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the College of New Rochelle, School of New Resources, New Rochelle, NY, and a Master of Counseling degree from Pace University, Dyson College of Arts and Science, White Plains, New York. He also received the New York State Family Development Credential (FDC) from Cornell University, School of Continuing Education and he is certified and recognized as a founding Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner at the Center for Credentialing & Education, Inc., Greensboro, North Carolina.
Dr. Richburg holds the Doctor of Education degree from the Graduate School of Education at Saint John Fisher University, Rochester, New York.
Dr. Richburg is a published author who resides in the southeastern United States with his lovely wife, Rev. Judith M. Richburg.
